What is this
This policy governs your rights and responsibilities, as well as our rights and responsibilities when it comes to your data and how it is used, stored, accessed and transmitted. By using this site and interacting with it, you agree to this policy.
Who we are
Our website address is: https://getcrumpets.com.
When we say “this site”, “the site”, or simply “site”, we are referring to the website listed above (https://getcrumpets.com), and any of the subdomains under getcrumpets.com which includes www.getcrumpets.com.
When we say “us”, “our”, “we”, or “company”, we are referring to Crumpets Kitchen LLC, which is the legal company name of the owner of this website and claims intellectual property over the assets served from this site unless otherwise excepted in this policy or in our terms of use.
Who you are
This seems kind of silly, but when we refer to “you” we are talking about you, the user or visitor of this site.
Comments
When you leave comments on this site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
As the author you are responsible for any comment you may post and claim responsibility for its content. Your comment may be removed, redacted or otherwise edited if it is deemed to be offensive or injurious. This is done at our discretion, or at the discretion of an agent which we may deem responsible for editing or moderating content on this site.
Product Reviews
Similar to comments, product reviews collect data shown on the review form, in addition to your IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. Further, your review may be checked to ensure you have previously purchased the product in which you are reviewing, as anonymous reviews without purchase may not be allowed at our discretion. This is done to protect us from spam and malicious reviews and ratings which are designed to negatively influence other users and visitors on this site, or otherwise harm our business and company.
As the author of a review, you are responsible for the language you use when posting your review and claim responsibility for its content. Note that your review may be shown publicly. Your review might also be used in promotional materials as determined by us. By posting a review you agree that we may do so without notifying you prior to use. We will anonymize your identity as best we can to protect you in the event you provide publicly identifying information, however we make no guarantee as to the degree of anonymity this may provide.
We will not scrub bad reviews from this site so long as they are factual in some regard and are not written to specifically injure or cause undue harm to the company. In other words, if a bad review is warranted and justified it will be left as is. However, malicious reviews that are not factually based or cannot be substantiated will be removed. We reserve the right to respond to such reviews in an attempt to improve the review or rating. As a poster or owner of the review, you agree that we can contact you to follow up on your review. We will not change any review (unless it violates the rules set forth above) without your consent.
Reviews received from other means or media, such as email, text message, or verbal communication may be edited for brevity or clarity, however the overall tone of the message will remain intact. The original message will be kept on file and provided to the review or comment owner on request.
Photos, emails, and other communications used to communicate reviews or comments may be used on this site, in other advertising medium, or in social media posts by us. We may send you reminder emails or communications to secure a review.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
You can remove these cookies anytime using the tools and settings within your browser.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles and other content on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you, the visitor, have visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. This is done for your protection, to ensure you are the one requesting the password reset.
If you did not request a password reset, it does not mean your account was compromised. It simply means that someone requested a password for your email address. It may have been a mistyped email. Still, repeated emails of this nature should be reported to us so that we may look into any issue that may be occurring to further protect you and your privacy.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment or review, the comment or review and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments and responses automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information you provide in your user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. If you need additional information modified, please contact us.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments or a review, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Your comments, reviews, or responses may be checked through an automated spam detection service. This is done through secure protocols to ensure that your data is encrypted.
